GAMBARAN STATUS GIZI IBU HAMIL DI PUSKESMAS MASSENGA KABUPATEN POLEWALI MANDAR PROPINSI SULAWESI BARAT 

Ibu hamil merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rentan terhadap gangguan gizi karena selama masa kehamilan diperlukan berbagai unsur gizi yang lebih banyak dari pada masa tidak hamil. Kejadian kurang energi kronis (KEK) yang diukur dengan menggunakan standar Lingkar Lengan Atas (LILA) < 23,5 cm pada ibu hamil masih cenderung tinggi dan belum lagi kejadian anemia yang masih tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian tentang status gizi ibu hamil perlu dilakukan.

Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional dengan rancangan deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran status gizi ibu hamil berdasarkan umur ibu, jarak kehamilan, status kerja ibu, asupan makanan sumber energi dan protein di Puskesmas Massenga Kabupaten Polewali Mandar Propinsi Sulawesi Barat.

Populasi penelitian adalah semua ibu hamil yang memeriksakan kehamilannya di Puskesmas Massenga dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 103 ibu yang ditentukan berdasarkan rumus besar sampel dan diambil secara purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria. Pengumpulan data penelitian dengan melakukan wawancara langsung kepada ibu menggunakan instrumen penelitian dan pengukuran LILA. Pengolahan data dengan bantuan komputer dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel disertai penjelasan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KEK pada ibu hamil lebih banyak terjadi pada kelompok umur yang berisiko rendah sebanyak 18 (92%), berstatus kerja terdapat 7 ibu (28%), pada jarak kehamilan yang rapat terdapat 11 ibu (44%), asupan energi lebih banyak pada kategori kurang sebanyak 20 ibu (80%) dan asupan protein yang kurang sebanyak 13 (52%).

Saran yang diajukan adalah perlunya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang penerpaan pola makan pada ibu hamil dan adanya dukungan keluarga khususnya suami dalam upaya pemenuhan kebutuhan nutrisi ibu hamil.

Lack of understanding and knowledge of mothers about the advantages and benefits of breastfeeding that many mothers do not give colostrum, as well as providing complementary feeding (MP-ASI) is one element of the causes of low achievement of exclusive breastfeeding.
